After-School Activities in Pattaya for Kids and Teens

School finishes around 15:00 and the afternoon is suddenly wide open. This guide walks through the after-school options available in Pattaya for ages 8 to 17, what each one suits, and how to pick one your child will actually stick with.

Start with what the afternoon needs to do

Parents usually want three things from an after-school activity: somewhere supervised until pick-up, something that builds a real skill, and something the child does not have to be dragged to. Very few activities do all three, so it helps to decide which matters most in your household.

Age matters too. Under-11s tend to need shorter sessions with more supervision and variety. Teenagers want progression, peers, and a bit of independence, and they drop anything that feels babyish within a month.

What families say

My son absolutely loves it at SQUID eSports in Pattaya! As a mum, I was just looking for a safe place for his hobby, but it's turned into something so much better.

If your child already games every afternoon

A lot of parents in Pattaya are not choosing between gaming and an activity. The gaming is already happening; the question is whether it is unsupervised solo play or something structured.

That is the gap our programme fills. Squid Esports Pod runs coached 90-minute classes at Wonderspace Pattaya for ages 8 to 17, in small groups of up to eight students per coach. Sessions are accredited by the Esports Academy Foundation and cover game skill alongside communication, team roles, and screen-time balance.

  • Weekday classes: Wednesday and Thursday at 16:45 and 18:30
  • Weekend classes: Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 and 12:00
  • One game per week from ฿1,900 a month, all equipment provided
  • First class is a free trial, so nobody signs up blind

How to choose without wasting a term's fees

  • Ask for a trial session before paying for a term. Any decent provider offers one.
  • Check the group size. Eight students per coach is very different from twenty.
  • Match the time to reality, including traffic and homework, not to the ideal week.
  • Give it four sessions before judging. Most children hate week one of anything.
  • Ask what the coach reports back to you, and how often.

Frequently asked questions

What time do after-school activities usually start in Pattaya?

Most run between 16:00 and 19:00 on weekdays. Our own classes start at 16:45 and 18:30 on Wednesday and Thursday, which gives time to travel from school and eat.

What age is right to start?

Our programmes accept students from 8 to 17. Younger children generally do better with one activity at a time; teens can usually manage two.

How much should an after-school activity cost?

In Pattaya, weekly group activities commonly land between ฿1,500 and ฿4,000 per month depending on coach ratio and equipment. Our one-game bundle is ฿1,900 a month.

Is esports really an activity, or just more screen time?

Sessions are coached and structured with goals, feedback and time limits. Students train, review and compete in teams rather than free-play, and screen-time balance is taught as part of the programme.
